Memories of Lynn by Sarah Barnes:

1952 -1973

Lynn, Celeste Birkeland + I - Sarah Barnes became best of buddys our last 2 years at West High School - we became a trio for good fun + exploring all the new ideas + things before us. Celeste + I had rented a good little apartment in the summer of 1969 , we had friends  stopping by with a new LP of music + sharing of that illicit pot.  Lynn was always welcome to come see us but soon had a boyfriend + they were living on spooky Nicolett Island in downtown Minneapolis.  We went to visit her a few times -she was living in a dark desolate house there.  We knew Lynn + the other people there were taking a drug Celeste + I knew nothing about but we knew it was bad.  The last time we saw Lynn we picked her up + we went to Bridgeman's ice cream in Dinkytown to try to talk her in to coming away with us now but she looked lost + she was lost to heroin + it took her away. We will always remember fun loving sweet Lynn ...
